Countertops are the single most touched surface in the room, and the one where a bad decision is most visible. We keep full slabs at our stone partner's yard in Verona so you can look at the actual piece your kitchen will be cut from, not a four-inch chip.
Templating happens after cabinets are level and set. We lay out the slab digitally, show you exactly where seams will fall, and adjust the layout if a vein lands somewhere you dislike.
Edge profiles, sink reveals, faucet holes and backsplash height all get decided at template, in writing, before anything goes to the saw.

Slab viewing
See and tag the actual slabs before fabrication. Photos are not a substitute for standing in front of the stone.
Digital templating
Laser template of the set cabinets, accurate to about a sixteenth of an inch.
Seam layout approval
A drawing showing every seam, overhang and cutout, signed off before cutting.
Fabrication
CNC cut, edges polished, cutouts made for your specific sink and faucet model.
Installation and sealing
Set, shimmed, seamed with color-matched epoxy and sealed where the material calls for it.
Undermount sink setting
Sink support frames built into the cabinet, not glued to the underside of the stone.

Material selection
Narrow to two or three materials at the studio, then visit the slab yard.
Template
About 90 minutes on site once cabinets are set.
Layout approval
We email the seam and vein layout. Nothing is cut until you reply.
Fabrication
Typically 7 to 12 business days depending on material.
Install
One day for most kitchens. Plumbing reconnects the next morning.

Cabinetry and stone are predictable. These are the variables that actually change a budget.

Square footage and cutouts
Cooktop cutouts, apron sinks and mitered waterfall ends each add fabrication time.
Edge profile
Eased and quarter-round edges are standard. Mitered or double-thickness edges cost more and look substantial.
Slab count
A kitchen that needs a second slab for one small run costs noticeably more. We plan layouts to avoid it where we can.

About countertops & stone
Answers from the questions we get asked most at the sample bench.
Quartz is consistent, non-porous and forgiving, which suits busy family kitchens. Natural stone has movement no manufactured surface reproduces, and it asks for sealing and a little care. Neither is the wrong answer.
You will be able to find them. On a good layout, in a granite or quartzite with movement, guests will not. We show you where they land before cutting so there are no surprises.
It etches. That is not a defect, it is how calcium carbonate behaves around lemon juice and wine. Plenty of our clients love the patina. If that idea bothers you, choose quartzite instead.
No, and anyone who offers to is gambling with your money. Cabinets move during install. We template the reality, not the drawing.
