Solid plywood boxes and a layout that already worked. The owners wanted the honey-oak look gone before hosting a graduation party, and they had eight weeks.

What the owners asked for
The kitchen worked. The finish did not. Honey oak raised-panel doors, a laminate top and a 4-inch splash that made the room feel a decade older than the house.
The graduation party date was fixed, which made refacing the only honest option. A full remodel could not have been designed, built and installed in the window available.

- All visible face frames and cabinet ends wrapped in matching veneer

A sink base that had quietly failed
Under the sink, the cabinet bottom had been wet long enough to delaminate. We built and finished a replacement sink base at the shop to match the existing run, swapped it during install, and the owners never saw a schedule change.
What changed for the owners
